A tough read, but well worth reading. Felt awful just seeing the options I had for the tests. Seeing the way that Alice started to understand the truth but couldn't accept it... even though a "solution" in the form of the airlock was there, I never wanted to use it. Asides from the great writing on display here, the backgrounds are really impressive, and I loved the sprites!
im so glad everything shone through like we wanted it to. im very happy you didnt want to take the easy way out, and im glad that the effect of it hanging over you the whole game is working as intended. ty for the review!!!!
thank u for such a kind review <3 Alice's denial and violence go hand in hand-- she simply can't accept change! i'm glad you enjoyed your play through and that u saw what we were going for with the airlock!!:...-)
Watch as Alice Langston crashes tf out as she (or rather You) continuously refuse to accept reality C:
I think the airlock button being present almost the entire game is fantastic. Alice doesn't want to press the button because she can't let go of her wife. You don't want to press the button because you want a satisfying narrative. We both go out looking for this shit. It's cathartic. Sometimes, we want the nightmare to continue. And isn't that what toxic yuri is all about? :3
her home really do be concaving all the time tho. she really gotta find herself a new home.
Beautiful and heart rending! The dread and sense of inevitability the whole time was palpable. We have a huge affinity for these kinds of premises, and this delivered thematically and visually!
aaaaaa thank you so much for your kind review! our writer once said "the answer is almost always not to do plot twists and instead to make the audience aware because plot twists are temporary but dread is forever", and i think that sentiment becomes more true with every response like this. im so glad you had a good time with the game!!
THE DREADDD, THE DREAAAAD!! i was dreading every time we had to pick what medical thing to happen, but it made for a super enjoyable read, i was totally saying "no!! no!!" under my breath at multiple moments... i usually prefer kinetic vns but for this i actually really enjoyed how the various endings totally kept me guessing!! also, i really enjoyed the backgrounds, drawing spaceship interiors seems so hard so i really gotta give props to the background artist especially :3
Hey this is really excellent! I love the contrast between the two main endings and the utter bleakness of the third. I love the ambiguity of That Moment in the ??? ending. Art is really good too. Very powerful. Great work, following to see what you do in the future.
Putting my review here, too, since I don't know if those are able to be publicly viewed like comments are.
This was wonderful! Deeply stressful, but wonderful!
The emotions were amplified in a different way than intended at first-- by me not seeing the airlock button for 2/3rds of my play through-- but that's okay. I think it's a testament to how well done this is, that I accidentally missed a whole mechanic and was still so completely engrossed by it.
Amazing artwork, music, and writing came together to form a compelling and haunting story of marital decay and desperately clinging onto a past you know you've already lost.
I already left a review but I have no idea if those show up on itch.io pages. OH MY GOD THIS WAS SO GOOD. Just absolutely fantastic. The endings that I got were so so excellent and the characters were fleshed out so well. Love this sooo much.
